Opened in 1938 by Abe Bergson and Jack Heller, B&H Dairy is one of New York City’s oldest kosher dairy lunch counters and has remained largely unchanged, serving generations of locals, students, artists, and celebrities. Today it is owned by Fawzy Abdelwahed (an Egyptian Muslim) and his wife, Aleksandra “Ola” Abdelwahed (a Polish Catholic), who run it with a dedicated staff and a welcoming spirit that earned B&H a Village Award in 2017.
